Darlene’s love of volleyball started back in high school where she quickly developed a passion for the sport. She played club volleyball in her hometown of Kitchener-Waterloo with the Waterloo Tigers for several years. A highlight for her was travelling to play in the Nike Volleyball Festival in California for 2 years and meeting beach legend, Sinjin Smith.

She went on to coach the Westdale Junior Girls Volleyball team while she studied to become a Physiotherapist at McMaster University. After a move to Toronto, Darlene played competitively both indoor and beach co-ed for several years. She also played OVA women’s beach for one season. She’s spent many years since playing competitive women’s volleyball around the Hamilton area.

Outside the court, Darlene lives in Caledonia with her husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs. She is a Physiotherapist and owns her own Physiotherapy clinic which keeps her busy. In her spare time, you can find her playing escape rooms, geocaching or lounging in the pool.

Darlene is looking forward to stepping into the role of coach and helping to build leadership, volleyball skills and great memories for her athletes.
