Jason Pundyk is an Certified Developmental Coach and a Trained Advanced Development Coach and is entering his 15th year coaching in the OVA. Prior to coaching with the Raiders in Waterdown, Jason coached with BVC (Brock volleyball club) and the Southern Ontario Strikers. Jason has also coached and competed for the McMaster Men’s Varsity Field Lacrosse team from 2006-2010. His coaching experience continued with the Welland Warlords Jr. B Lacrosse Club (now Welland Generals) from 2009-2012 and was awarded the Ontario Lacrosse Jr. B Coaching Staff of the year in the 2010 season.
Jason shifted his coaching attention to volleyball and in 2014 was named to the Coaching Staff for the Ontario Regional Volleyball team, earning a bronze medal at the Ontario Winter Games. Jason has recently joined the McMaster Marauders Women’s Volleyball team as an Assistant Coach under Tim Louks; Jason is entering his fifth season with the program.
Jason preaches the fundamentals on the volleyball court with a stress on relentless defense and serving. Each contact in the game requires focus, discipline and technique. The emphasis on success through repetition and sometimes failure is a key tool in the molding of any young athlete. Jason is also a certified OVA official.
