Matt Schnarr
Matthew Schnarr is a Certified Advanced Development Coach and this will be his 6th year coaching for SRVC. Matthew brings 20 years of coaching experience with him from various levels including Club, Regional, Team Ontario and College.
Matthew coached the Mohawk College Men’s Volleyball team for 10 years, 9 of those years was as Head Coach. He was also the Head Coach of the Mohawk College Women’s Volleyball team from 2016-2022. His Club experience includes 10 years of experience as both a Head Coach and a Technical Director. Matthew has been a coach for Team Ontario since 2016, and was part of the Team Ontario Selection Committee in 2014. More specifically, he was an Assistant Coach for the Youth National Team for Team Canada in 2024 and 2025. He has been the Lead Coach of Team O Elite Girls since 2022, was the Head Coach of U17 Team O Black in 2023, and was the Assistant Coach for Canada Summer Games/Team O Elite Girls Program from 2019-2022. Matthew was also Head Coach of the U17 Black Girls Team in 2019 and the Head Coach of the U16 Red Top Girls Team in 2018.
Some of Matt’s accomplishments include receiving the Ontario Volleyball Recognition Award in 2024, being named a 2023 Mohawk College Hall of Fame Athlete for Badminto and Men’s Volleyball, being awarded the 2023 Mike Bugarski Ontario Volleyball Male Coach of the Year Award, and being named Laurie Cahill Mohawk College Head Coach of the Year in 2020.
