Doug fell in love with volleyball when he started playing in high school, after his Mother would not let him play football. The adage of Mother knows best has proven to never be more true. 35 years later, he continues actively playing, and having fun. More impressive he is still friends with many of those original teammates.
Doug is looking forward to developing his skills on the sidelines as an assistant coach. He wants to help athletes bring out their best on and off the court. His two main tenants for volleyball are make loud calls and crush some balls.
Doug is a Federal Environmental Enforcement Officer. He has received an insane amount of training including First Aid/CPR (standard, wilderness, and marine), defensive driving, white water rescue, predator protection, self-defense, and most importantly when dealing with teens, verbal judo (de-escalation). He is also a certified small vessel operator (ship), pilot (drone), restricted radio operator, and Krav Maga Instructor (IKF-CQB).
