Assistant Coach 14U Explosion

Larissa Howard-Montesano

Larissa’s love for the game began at age 10.  She played for her school teams in elementary and secondary school, recreationally as an adult, and still continues to, on occasion.  She would have loved to play at the club level,  however, is so grateful to her kids for taking her along for their ride.  The Montesanos have been a part of the SRVC family since 2018.  Her oldest daughter graduated playing 18U with Velocity and her youngest currently competes in 18U with Boom.

She always felt so lucky that her girls chose the game that she loves!  Larissa truly misses the days of doing drills with her daughters in their home’s family room and driveway and would like to encourage the 10-year-olds of this generation who are eager to learn and play the game to do so.

In the past, Larissa has been a part of development programs with SRVC, Dofasco house league, and VolleyGirls.  This will be her 3rd year as an assistant coach with Smash.

Building confidence in athletes by teaching proper technique, enhancing basic skills and agility, demonstrating teamwork, and instilling a lifelong love for the game are her goals for this team.
