Ryan Jay

ASSISTANT COACH - 13U STRIKERS

Ryan is an experienced athletic trainer with a vast background in Personal Training (NASM) and Physiotherapy practices. Building durable and mobile physical strength in athletes is a necessity; especially in such an unpredictable environment like volleyball.

As a league and recreational player, Ryan has built his Volleyball foundation through solo and community practice. With an eye for biomechanics, and a background of athletic and therapeutic exercise, his coaching not only applies to advice in the moment, but short-long term progressions. The goal for him is always to build athlete’s with functional bodies that excel at any goal they wish. No one wants to play a sport that only hurt’s them – play the game to win and have fun!

You can find Ryan at multiple gym’s for both work and his own training program. He also plays recreational volleyball and loves cooking – specifically any seafood or Filipino dishes.

Andrew Courchesne

HEAD COACH - 13U STRIKERS

Coach Andrew has been involved in volleyball since the 1980’s, playing in High School and the OVA as a Setter.  As a volleyball coach with 6 years of experience with teams at the 13U and 14U levels, he has dedicated himself to helping players reach their full potential on and off the court.  He strives to create a positive and supportive team environment where each player feels valued and motivated to improve.

Being mentored by senior coaches helps Coach Andrew learn strategies and techniques that will enhance the performance of the team and ensure that the team is always pushing themselves to be the best that they can be.  He believes in the power of teamwork, team mentality, communication, and self confidence through sport, and instills these values in the athletes he coaches.  Coach Andrew’s goal is not only to help his team succeed in matches, but to help them grow as individuals and develop important life skills that will benefit them long after their volleyball careers are over.  One the greatest rewards to Andrew is seeing former players move on to post secondary teams.

Andrew was self employed in the construction industry since 1986, and was involved in roofing and waterproofing projects across Canada, the Caribbean, and Europe.  He enjoys a good fishing trip, camping, and spending time with his family.
