Emily Stanski
ASSISTANT COACH - 15U ROCKETS
Emily began playing volleyball at a young age, quickly developing a love for the sport. Throughout her youth, she competed in the OVA from 13U to 18U. Her volleyball career was cut short by the pandemic, which ended her final season, but her love for the game has never wavered. Emily’s experience on the court, combined with her dedication to the game, led her to coaching. This is her first year as an Assistant Coach, where she is excited to share her knowledge and passion with the next generation of athletes.
Outside of volleyball, Emily is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at OCAD University, but hopes to use this as experience to pursue a career in teaching. She is committed to helping athletes grow both on and off the court and looks forward to supporting the team in their development.
Veronica Stanski
ASSISTANT COACH - 15U ROCKETS
Veronica has been involved with the OVA and volleyball since she was 12 years old. Though injury cut her days of playing short, she has been actively involved with assisting and supporting teams both on and off the court for many years. Before Smash, Veronica was very involved in her sister’s OVA journey, helping her and being her biggest cheerleader. Veronica volunteered her time to stay at her sister’s practices and helped her sister’s team be prepared for every game and tournament they played. Veronica felt it was very important for the young girls, including her sister, to have a positive and enthusiastic female role model who believed they could achieve whatever they set their minds to. Veronica rarely missed a practice and went to every tournament to support, offering her various skills to not only the players and coaches, but to the parents as well. The parents of her sister’s teammates grew easily comfortable with her and trusted her aiding at tournaments when things got overwhelming. She always stayed on top of the schedule, observed the other teams, made sure everyone was eating, was well hydrated and even helped boost morale when times seemed a bit tough. Though this is Veronica’s first official year as an assistant coach, she believes the skills she picked up over the years of aiding with her sister’s teams will help her create a strong bond with fellow coaches, her players and their parents.
Outside of volleyball, Veronica is finishing up University, pursing a degree in Graphic Design. She hopes that one day she will be able to combine her passion for volleyball and design into a career doing Graphic Design for the OVA and the clubs who are a part of the association. She is a lover of music and you will often find her gaming on her computer or hanging out with her friends and family when she has a bit of free time.
Lukasz Belzyt
ASSISTANT COACH - 15U ROCKETS
With extensive experience on competitive volleyball teams and a deep passion for sports, especially volleyball, Lukasz is excited to join the coaching staff of 15U Rockets. His love for volleyball began in grade 6, the moment he stepped onto the court for his first practice.
Volleyball has always been more than just a game to him; it’s a lifelong passion. Over the past year, Lukasz has fully immersed myself in the sport, actively participating in practice sessions and engaging with the team.
Lukasz firmly believes in the critical importance of strength and conditioning. To him, practice extends beyond the court—it’s an opportunity to demonstrate to coaches and others the hard work and dedication invested outside of practice. He emphasizes the value of consistent effort, both on and off the court, to help players reach their full potential.
As an assistant coach, his mission is to help the athletes become the best players they can be while sharing his passion for volleyball. He is committed to creating a supportive and challenging environment where every athlete feels encouraged to push their limits and grow. His hands-on approach aims to instill a strong work ethic and a deep love for the game in each player. By fostering a culture of enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork, he hopes to inspire athletes to excel in volleyball and carry these valuable lessons into their everyday lives.
Volleyball has brought Lukasz immense joy and fulfillment, and he is eager to pass on that joy to the young athletes that he has the privilege of coaching. Together, they will work hard, have fun, and create lasting memories on and off the court.
Taylor Casey
HEAD COACH - 15U ROCKETS
This is Taylor’s first year as head coach and 3rd year coaching with SRVC. She was also the Assistant coach for the 2023 CANUSA Games and is a Trained Development Coach. Taylor is excited and ready to be back on the court this season, putting an emphasis on teamwork and effective communication as well as striving for continuous player development on and off the court.
Personally, Taylor played club volleyball throughout school – playing in both indoor and beach programs. She was also a varsity trainer for multiple sports at Western – helping with injury treatment and prevention. She knows first-hand the importance of promoting both physical and mental health in athletes.
Taylor’s coaching philosophy comes down to 4 ideas:
- Process proceeds performance
- The small things matter (fundamentals)
- Mistakes are a given, it’s about what you learn and how you grow from the mistake
- Hustle is visible, it sets you apart
Outside of volleyball, you can find Taylor hiking, reading, and hanging out with her two dogs!
